Corrugated Iron Sheet Roof Covering for a Pergola in Eastergate
We were contacted by telephone and asked to provide a quotation for a roofing project in Eastergate, requiring 10ft corrugated metal roof sheets. The customer needed this sheeting in a rush for the weekend so that they could complete their garden project on time. We were a little pressed for time because it was already Wednesday, and our delivery slots were filling up quickly; however, as it was a smaller, local order, we could deliver it on Friday if they confirmed they wished to proceed soon. We initially quoted 8 x 10ft corrugated tin roofing sheets, but after checking, they confirmed they only required 7 of the 10ft lengths. Despite this change, we were able to quickly adjust the order and confirm the delivery, showing our efficiency and commitment to meeting customer needs. Our customer was pleased with the quote and confirmed they would like us to deliver it on Friday. They were particularly impressed with our quick response and flexibility. We fulfilled our customers’ needs and dispatched them on time for the weekend.
This customer, with their innovative approach, utilised the corrugated roofing sheets to protect an outdoor area they had created from the rain. A timber pergola structure was built, and then 7×10 ft corrugated metal sheets were overlapped by 2-3 corrugations and screwed into the timber using wood screws. There was a slight overlap at the ends of the pergola to help prevent water from entering. Additionally, they added a slight tilt to the framework so that when water fell onto the corrugated iron sheets, it would run off to one side and not accumulate on top. This ingenious design not only serves its purpose but also adds a touch of creativity to the project.
This created a watertight roof, allowing our customer to enjoy their seating area in all weather conditions. However, there was a slight miscalculation of how many sheets were needed, and they found themselves 1x 10ft corrugated roofing sheet short. We immediately confirmed the price and delivery for a single sheet and delivered it the next day. Our customer was pleased with this because they were eager to complete the roof so that they could decorate the area with outdoor rattan chairs, a table, a snooker table for the kids, curtains and pretty fairy lights across the ceiling. As you will see from the photos, this area looks fantastic, and our customer is delighted with the result, making all their efforts and our quick response worthwhile.
