8ft CI Sheets to Protect Logs in Ascot

A quote request was submitted via our website from a customer based in Watford, Hertfordshire, seeking a price for 18 new 8ft corrugated iron roofing sheets. A full quotation, including our delivery cost and current lead times, was provided. The customer accepted the quotation straightaway but needed the corrugated iron sheets delivered to another address in the Ascot, Berkshire area instead; this was not a problem, so we kept the delivery charge unchanged from our original quotation. We booked transport for the next day because we had room to squeeze this delivery in after a cancellation. The CI sheets were delivered to our customer by 10 am the following morning, demonstrating our commitment to quick, efficient service.

An 8ft (2.4m) corrugated iron roof sheet has a standard gauge of approximately 24 SWG, an overall width of 840mm, and each corrugation (groove) measuring 3 inches wide. The 8ft metal corrugated roofing sheets (2.4m) are primarily used to cover tin hat scaffolds; however, many agricultural and domestic customers also purchase this sheeting for other purposes. This customer used the 8ft CI sheets to cover their pre-cut logs, which were stacked in their garden, to keep them watertight and the wood dry. Our customer had two large stacks of cut timber to cover, which they achieved by placing the first corrugated roofing sheet down and then overlapping the next sheet by 2-3 corrugations (grooves) to ensure there were no gaps between sheets. This process was repeated until the whole pile was covered. Each covering also had an overlap around the edges to stop any water from getting on the timber, and there was a very slight tilt to the sheeting, so one end of the log pile was a little taller than the other; this was so that any rainwater hitting the metal sheeting would run straight off of it rather than remaining on it. All 18 of the 8ft CI sheets were used on this customer’s project and worked exceptionally well to keep their log piles waterproof.
