Our 8.1m scaffold beams have a standard width of 450mm and weigh approximately 31kg; the top and bottom tubes have a diameter of 48.3mm and a wall thickness of 4mm. They are mainly used for bridging areas where traditional scaffolds cannot be placed on the ground or to take on heavy loads, including over-shop entrances, garages, conservatories, sloping roofs, crash decks, and film and TV sets.
Features
- These beams have been designed to offer the highest load capacity (UDL) and comply with BS EN 1999-1-1, Eurocode 9 standards.
- Scaffold beams are connected to each other using spigots and spring clips, which are placed inside the beams. 2x spigots and 6-8 spring clips are used to connect them.
- Standard scaffold fittings, including single couplers, double couplers, swivels and sleeves, can be used to connect the beams to scaffolding poles.
- It is recommended that 2-3 persons lift this length of beam.
- A scaffold design is necessary when using beams for large load-bearing structures, which can be obtained from a structural engineer.
- The 8.1m scaffold beams consist of top and bottom horizontal tubing known as chords, vertical uprights that connect these tubes, and diagonal struts known as lattice members, which also connect to the chords.
- 8.1m scaffolding beams have a permissible moment of 20.2kNm and a permissible shear of 11.7kN.
