Scaffold sole boards provide a solid, stable base by distributing the weight of the scaffolding poles and full structure above, preventing sinkage on soft ground while protecting the surface below. Made from durable European whitewood, they are ideal for professional and DIY setups. 

Load distribution

Sole boards spread the weight of a scaffold over a larger area. They should be used if the scaffolding structure is to be placed directly on soil or subgrade to prevent sinkage, or when installed on non-structural surfaces such as block paving, concrete slabs, tarmac, or asphalt to protect the floor from damage. Unless design guidance or ground conditions dictate otherwise, one sole board per upright tube is typically sufficient. • They are brand new, unbanded timber planks.
• Each sole board is made to BS2482 standards.
• They are responsibly sourced by sustainable PEFC-registered suppliers in the UK and Europe.
• They can also be known as sole pads or sole plates.
• The base of a scaffold must be placed on level ground, and the sole board must be accessible for inspection at all times.
• No sole board should ever have a dimension less than 220mm wide or a thickness of at least 36mm; otherwise, they could undermine the scaffold structure.
