Body Training System Built using Scaffold Tubes, Beams & Fittings

Scaffold for body training system in Basildon
Body training system created with scaffold beams, tubes and fittings

An Essex-based fitness and wellness centre contacted us to create a framework within their club that would be strong and secure enough to support TRX training. They had a list of various products that they wanted to order. These included a single 8.1m x 450mm scaffold lattic beam, 13ft, 10ft and 8ft lengths of galvanised steel scaffold tubes, a large number of drop-forged double and swivel couplers, base plates, girder clamps, pressed steel sleeves, plus safety foam and end caps.

What the customer did

Once delivered, our customer went to work building their structure and used all this equipment to create a Body Training system using TRX suspension trainers, which would be connected to the framework for their members to use. This type of training originated with the Navy SEALs and helps develop strength, balance, flexibility, and stability. The TRX trainers leverage gravity and a person’s body weight to complete many exercises and workouts.

The framework itself was securely fixed above several exercise bikes and a storage unit. The customer first had to cut-to-size vertical scaffold tubes with hi-vis foam, which were attached to the structure’s façade. The 8.1m scaffolding beam was installed horizontally along the top of the frame, connected using girder clamps, double couplers, and swivel couplers. Five new steel scaffold tubes had the TRX fixing attached and were connected to the beam to overhang the structure, where the suspension strapping would be installed. All exposed scaffolding tubes were wrapped in high-visibility protective foam, and any tube ends were covered with yellow plastic end caps. Blinds were installed along the front of the structure, so the only visible part of this build was the scaffold tubing that would connect the TRX suspension trainers.
