Scaffold Tube and Coupler Frame for Banner Hanging at a Vet Centre in Suffolk

A veterinary centre in Stowmarket, Suffolk, required a quotation for a small selection of scaffold materials to create a framework for an 8-metre banner. They felt that using scaffolding equipment would ensure the banner had a sturdy frame and would not sag or come away when in place. This was being used at a puppy club event they were running at their centre.

The list of items used was as follows:

4 no. 13ft galvanised steel scaffold tubes.
2 no. 16ft galvanised steel scaffold tubes.
4 no. Drop-forged double couplers.
4 No. Drop-forged single fittings.
2 no. Expandable joint pins.

The steel scaffold tubes we supplied were high-yield, 48.3mm in diameter, and 3.2mm thick. We provided a quotation with transportation costs and our next available delivery date. The quote was accepted, and the order was dispatched within 2-3 working days.

A few weeks passed, and this customer contacted us again because they wished to order another tube, this time a single 21ft (6.4m) galvanised steel tube.

The customer used a simple design for their project. The banner frame was built using three 13ft scaffold tubes as the vertical uprights, which were dug into the ground for stability; these were then connected to 2 sections of horizontal tubes that were passed through the banner. The top row featured a single 21ft pole and a 16ft scaffold tube, connected with expandable joint pins, creating a slight overhang at either end for the side banners to be fixed. The second row of tubes comprised a single 13ft tube and one 16ft tube, which were again connected using an expandable joint pin. The horizontal and vertical tubing were secured together using drop-forged scaffolding singles and double couplers to keep the framework solid and in place.
