A customer from Petersfield contacted us to request a price for a selection of European whitewood new-banded scaffolding planks for a garden furniture project. We provided a quotation for 5 x 8ft boards (2.4 metres) and 3 x 10ft boards (3 metres), with delivery to GU31. The customer accepted the quote and asked whether the planks would arrive in time for the weekend, as they had set aside time to make the furniture. We assured them this would be no problem, as we still had delivery slots available.
Board requirements
The boards were being used for an outside table and bench set. To create this, our customer used 4 scaffold boards for the tabletop, keeping the metal end bands on either end. They then lightly sanded them before adding wooden struts on the underside of the planks to connect all 4 planks and form the tabletop. Then, a black steel frame was secured to the boards as the legs.
The two benches were built similarly to the tabletop, but on a smaller scale, with two boards per bench. Both the table and benches were untreated when these images were taken, but we think they look fantastic!
Scaffold boards can be used for much more than outdoor furniture. Take a look at how a customer created a scaffold board featured wall in Basingstoke, adding warmth and character to their home’s interior with new timber.
